Group2The Crestwood Police Department is organized into three key divisions: Command Staff, Field Operations, and Support Services, each working together to ensure public safety and community engagement.

Leadership & Command Staff

Leading the department is Chief of Police Jonathan Williams, supported by Deputy Chief Mike Ford, Field Operations Commander Boyd Hoffmeister, and Support Services Commander Kent Meier. Assisting in daily operations is Police Administrative Assistant Trisha Hardesty.

Field Operations Division

Often referred to as the Patrol Division, Field Operations is the backbone of the department, providing 24/7 coverage to the community. Officers respond to emergencies, enforce traffic laws, and ensure public safety through proactive patrols. The division consists of:

  • Patrol Squads (A, B, C, D): Each team is led by a Patrol Sergeant and staffed by three Patrol Officers, ensuring round-the-clock coverage.
  • Traffic Unit: Dedicated to handling traffic complaints, accident reports, and enforcement efforts to improve road safety.
  • Community Resource Officer (CRO): Serving as the department’s public relations liaison, the CRO oversees youth programs, station tours, and community outreach efforts. This role includes:
    • D.A.R.E. Program: Officer Dion Olson, a certified D.A.R.E. Instructor since 2002, teaches students at Holy Cross Academy at Our Lady of Providence, educating them on drug resistance and making positive life choices.
    • Youth Programs & Public Engagement: The CRO coordinates youth initiatives, including The Alternative, organizes station tours, and arranges guest speakers for schools and civic groups.
    • Station Tours & Speaker Requests: Residents can schedule guided tours of the police station, booking area, and jail (as conditions allow) or request speakers on law enforcement topics.

Support Services Division

Handling the department’s investigative and administrative functions, the Support Services Division includes the Detective Bureau, Communications Section, and Police Records.

Police Records: Maintains all reports and case files. Reports are available in person at the Police Department, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Call 314-729-4818 before visiting; a nominal fee applies.

Through a combination of professional law enforcement and strong community partnerships, the Crestwood Police Department remains dedicated to serving and protecting its residents.
