Fire Personnel

Staffed by a dedicated team of professionals, the Crestwood Department of Fire Services is committed to protecting the lives and property of the City’s 3.4-square-mile community, which includes more than 5,000 households. The department operates out of a single centrally located engine house, allowing for an average response time of just three minutes. The department holds a Class 2 rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO), reflecting its high level of service and readiness.

Fire Personnel 

  • Fire Chief Ryan Harrell brings more than 25 years of experience in fire services and has served with the Crestwood Fire Department since January 2026.
  • The Department consists of three crews with a Deputy Chief, Lieutenant, Captain and five Firefighter/Paramedics

Personnel operate on a 48-hours-on, 96-hours-off schedule across a three-platoon shift system. All members of the department are certified firefighters through the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission. In addition to their firefighting certifications, all personnel are certified at the hazardous materials operations level, and one member holds certification as a Hazmat Technician.

The department also participates in the regional mutual aid system, responding to calls for assistance when incidents exceed the capacity of a single agency.
