Sewer Lateral Program

The City of Crestwood offers a Sanitary Sewer Lateral Program to assist homeowners facing issues with their sewer lateral line.

Established in 1999, this program helps cover the cost of repairing broken sanitary sewer laterals—often a costly and unexpected expense. Funded by an annual $28 assessment from each homeowner, the program covers repairs to damaged sections of the lateral line between the home’s foundation and the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) main line. Please note: routine maintenance and cleaning are not included.

What to Do If Your Sewer Is Blocked

If you’re experiencing a sewer backup or blockage, follow these steps:

  1. Call a plumber or sewer cleaning service to attempt to clear the blockage.
  2. If the line cannot be cleared, contact Director of Public Works Jeff Faust and fill out the sewer lateral program application above. Please also provide all cabling videos and invoices from previous work performed at this time.
