The City’s 2025 slab replacement project is nearly complete. All concrete work has been finished, and crews are now allowing the newly poured slabs to cure before fully reopening the affected areas.
Construction began in late May and included slab replacement on portions of Tea Rose Lane, Cordoba Lane, and Pardee Spur, as well as a full street replacement on Craigwood Terrace. Crews worked in sections, completing one side of each street before moving to the other to minimize disruption.
We appreciate residents' patience during this essential infrastructure maintenance. Please continue to avoid driving or parking on newly poured concrete until curing is complete. Once the concrete has fully set, all access will be restored.
Planning for the Future
The City of Crestwood maintains approximately 804,000 square yards of street pavement, with about two-thirds made of asphalt (536,000 sq. yds.) and one-third made of concrete (268,000 sq. yds.). To maintain an acceptable level of street quality, asphalt streets should be rehabilitated on a 10-year cycle, while concrete streets require attention every 25 years.
Falling behind on this schedule can lead to more extensive—and more expensive—repairs, including complete street reconstruction. To manage this responsibly, the City’s Public Works Department alternates concrete slab replacement and asphalt mill & overlay projects on an every-other-year basis, adjusting as needed based on pavement conditions.
In addition to surface repairs, ADA-accessible ramps are installed where absent, in compliance with current accessibility standards.
Estimated costs:
- Concrete slab replacement (FY 2025): $73 per square yard (7" pavement)
- Mill & overlay (FY 2026): $16 per square yard
