Waste Connections Outlines Service Improvements

Home Posted on January 30, 2026

At the request of Crestwood leadership, Waste Connections Municipal Representative Tony Lamantia addressed an increase in resident complaints about service during the Jan. 27 Board of Aldermen meeting. He outlined steps the company is taking to improve service reliability following a rise in service-related concerns, including missed collections, cleanup issues, and customer service.

Waste Connections committed to the following actions going forward:

  • Expanded hiring efforts to address staffing shortages and maintain consistent collection schedules.
  • Fleet vehicle upgrades are planned over the next few years to improve reliability and reduce trash/recycling spills.  Crestwood will be the first City to be serviced by these new trucks.
  • Drivers are expected to manage any loose trash or recycling materials that may spill during collection and are equipped with shovels when needed.
  • It was clarified that trash and recycling are not combined in the same truck. In some cases, the same driver services both routes. However, trash is collected first and taken to the disposal facility before the driver returns to collect recycling, which is then delivered to a separate recycling facility.
  • Residents experiencing issues should continue to contact Waste Connections service representatives at 636-321-2100. If not satisfied with customer service support, calls may be escalated to the service manager or to Tony Lamantia.

City officials will continue monitoring service performance and encourage residents to report ongoing service concerns so they can be addressed promptly.
