Phase 1 Final Development Plan- The Wayne (8800 Watson Rd.)

The Phase 1 Final Development Plan for the newly established "PD-MXD" Planned Development Mixed Use District at 8800 Watson Rd was approved by the Planning, Zoning, and Architectural Review Commission on May 3, 2023. 

The development has been titled The Wayne. The Phase 1 development plan covers approximately 10.1-acres of the approximately 12-acre parcel near the SE corner of the intersection of Watson Road and Grant Road. The Phase 1 Final Development Plan includes the construction of three new multi-family buildings consisting of 265 apartments with private amenity spaces for tenants. Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2024.

City staff report and recommendations

A Phase 2 plan for over 10,000 sqft of new commercial retail and restaurants at two parcels fronting Watson Rd. is expected to be announced in 2024.
