Chapter 26 Development Code Amendment- Lot Coverage Calculation

Summary: A proposed amendment to the Chapter 26 Development Code that would include all impervious cover into the calculation of lot coverage and would establish a maximum allowable lot coverage of 50% for residential lots in the R-1 through R-5 zoning districts.

Status: The public hearing to begin discussion on the proposed code amendment was opened by the Planning, Zoning, and Architectural Review Commission on August 4, 2021. Discussions continued and the public hearing was held open as successive regular meetings of the Planning Commission for several months, until the Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the proposed code amendments on March 3, 2022. 

The public hearing before the Board of Aldermen was opened at their March 22, 2022 regular meeting. The public hearing was voted to be continued. Public discussion will continue at the April 12, 2022 Board of Aldermen meeting.
